You know what? Andrei Arshavin has taken over this blog these past few days. For now, on just this one occasion, we will start with a new star, in the making.

Jay Simpson.

He was almost written off, he has been an Arsenal fan all his life and has been with the club since nine years of age.

The last two seasons he has looked like not making it at the very highest level, but now i think he is just what the doctor ordered.

He scored a quite fantastic goal the FA Cup tie against Peterborough last night, a 25 yarder that you would expect from the Premierships best stars. Its made people take notice of the talent he has because, like his idol Ian Wright the despicable talksport ranting cock, he is a late developer. If he becomes as good as Ian Wright we will have quite a player but i think he can be better.

Jay is the type of player that will be happy to do anything for Arsenal Football Club, he is the sort of player we really lack in our squad. He would be prepared to sit on the bench and wait his turn, unlike Diarra and to a certain extent Niklas Bendtner.

Man Utd and liverpool have these players in abundance, Darren Fletcher, John O’Shea, Nani etc, and so do the bindippers with the likes of Yossi Benayoun.

We lack this type of player that will bulk up our squad, but also be a good player at the same time unlike the aforementioned names. His brace against Wigan was fantastic and i am reliably informed that his weekend display was ‘outstanding’. I can’t wait to see him play some games because he will get better.

There is also some rather bleak news on the supporter front, Virgin Money’s Football Fans’ Inflation Index claim that one in four fans will cut back, with 24% of season ticket holders considering of giving their ticket up. This would see the waiting list dry up rather rapidly.

The index say:

costs have increased 21 per cent in the past three months alone, taking the cost of a match day for an individual to £106.21 – the first time the index has broken the £100 barrier. Since the index began costs have risen by more than 36 per cent.

That is a hell of a lot of money, considering the current climate it is a monstrous amount. At the Emirates it will set you back a tenner to get a pint and a hot-dog, Ok, its London, prices will be higher. But, the clubs are leeching supporters and they are now biting back.

However, i have caught out a scare monger amongst us.

The Northampton Chronicle and Echo claim:

Nearly a quarter of Arsenal fans are considering giving up their season-ticket according to a new survey.

While 24 per cent of Gunners season-ticket holders are considering cancelling, the survey says as many as 34 per cent of north London rivals Spurs are having second thoughts about renewing.

Utter rubbish if you read the actual press release from the Index, it states:

Clubs which have the least to worry about include Arsenal, Blackburn, newly-promoted Stoke and Bolton.

And the actual figure is 21%, not the 24% as the Northampton Chronicle claimed.

I really have had it with cheap despicable hacks making something out of nothing, concocting up some melodrama out of a press release stating we are not going to be hurt by something.

Now, whether im saving the best to last is down to personal preference, i am arriving at the topic of Russian, Andrei Arshavin.

But first i have come up with a headline you will expect to see later in the morning after reading this.

*Exclusive: Arshavin Goes For Shit – Arse Transfer Imminent*

Our good Arsenal supporting friends at Arseblog and Le-Grove have had news to them about a certain medical, involving a certain (as Arseblogger puts it) Owl faced Russian.

Arseblogger says that

There are whispers, unconfirmed and unsubstantiated, possibly baseless and without any truth whatsoever, that he’s due for a medical on Wednesday

Lets wait and see whats occurring!

Le-Grove say that the Arsenal physio is on standby waiting for Arshavin to arrive to give him a medical, so could a deal be imminent?

I will leave you to decide that!

Til’ tomorrow Hackhaters
