Niklas Bendtner turned jeers into cheers after his classy finish put us within eight points of leaders Liverpool.

To be honest, it was a rubbish game with one bright light, Robin Van Persie.

The first twenty minutes were quite encouraging, there was urgency pace and good passing but it always ended in nothing and by half time people were totally and utterly fed up. There was one comedy moment when Capi Toure and Manuel Almunia collided with each other on the edge of the box, you have to think what a fuss would have been made if that ended up a Bolton goal. There would have been a lynching party out looking for them.

I will talk more about Van Persie’s game later on in the post but the critical moment arrived after Van Persie clipped a brilliant ball into the path of the onrushing Niklas Bendtner and he slip home a really nice finish to silence the boo’s that rung out earlier when he misplaced a pass, they were pretty harsh i thought.

Now, Van Persie. Without him we would be fighting a relegation battle at the moment, he is in fantastic form at the moment and he is winning us games on his own. I do believe that with a whole injury free season behind him he could become one of the worlds best players, he is without doubt one of the worlds most naturally gifted footballers. Far more so than the fake Ferrari smashing Ronaldo.

His first touch is awesome and there are few players with a better one, his close control is just superb and he knows where the net is as well. But he is such a talented player he can create goals out of nothing and score them as well, just check the Liverpool and Chelsea goals, he is capable of turning the game on its head in a split second and this is bound to be the year the world takes notice of such a gifted footballer.

He is our bright light, there is no doubting it. He has been plagued with injuries but now he really is starting to get a lot of games under his belt and as long as he is cleverly managed by Arsene he will hopefully stay injury free all season.

One thing i did watch yesterday was Match Of The Day, after much laughing at Alan ‘hard nut’ Shearer’s orange fake tan, i saw Jay Simpson give a very good account of his talents at West Brom. He does look a very good player and drew praise from the Arsenal hating pannel they always have.

There is not much more kicking around today, tune in tomorrow for the latest.

Til Then.

Hello all, hope you all enjoyed the celebrations last night.

Day 1 of the transfer window – We will bring you all the news of the January transfer window so stay tuned for the next 31 days.

The news that a transfer request from Kilo (he is waaay overweight) Toure has been rejected by Peter Hill-Wood hit the press today. The number that continues to be branded around is £10 million, now i would bite your hand off if you offered me that for an unfit, overweight defender that has really lost his old form.

I see Toure’s problems on par with Sol Campbell’s eppy when he stormed out of Highbury at half time after a shocker against West Ham Utd. People are really going to hate me for suggesting we sell him but for £10 million we really could get a much much better player. At 27 he has about 3 years left before he starts to lose his greatest quality, his pace.

I’m a massive fan of his but he has been in decline in the last year and im not sure how he can reach his former heights, which really is a sad thing considering he was in the running for the captaincy this year and also the fact he has been overlooked as the vice captain. I think the story about the bust up with gallas is fabricated and is playing on the Gallas issues faced this season with the stripping of the captaincy and the comments he made, that were in my opinion, entirely true!

I will watch with great interest to see that happens, though i hope he stays and regains his old form, i wouldn’t be sad if he did leave.

A player that is sure to stay is Niklas Bendtner who was said his heart is with the club and he is not interested in moving, he has said;

“I don’t think about all the rumours because I am an Arsenal player and really love it here,”

“I hope that I can say stay here for a long time because to me Arsenal are the dream club.”

I have supported Bendtner in the past but he really has to work hard now, he put in a good performance at the weekend so now its time to do it whenever he is called upon and give 100%. Otherwise he will probably end up going, at the moment its all about strengthening and not letting players go without getting better replacements. Even if there is a potential star in the background.

There has been a lot of movement on the loan front, here is a brief summary:

Jay Simpson has signed a new long term deal with the club and will go to West Brom on loan until the end of the season.

Gavin Hoyte has gone on loan to Watford until the end of the season, he has also recently signed a new long term contract.

Nacer Barazite has extended his loan at Derby and signed a new four year deal with the club, he was expected to return to the club but Derby were determined to keep him until the end of the season.

Good prospects and i hope they show their potential, we have seen each one of them show it in the Carling Cup and on loan so lets hope it continues! Good luck to them.

Lets keep hearing your top 5 wanted arrivals at Emirates stadium in the comments, im going to do a post on all of them in the next few days, the more the merrier!

Right i think i will leave it there for today, Til next time.

Well, it looks like Arsene Wenger is a goon fan because i pleaded with him to keep Jay Simpson and it looks like he has listened and will give him a new contract and loan him out in January. Norwich are mooted as potential suiters. I think the kid has potential, raw pace, strength and good finishing, he needs to improve his passing but that may come as he matures. He offers something we don’t have at the club at the moment, a battering ram type.

He works seriously hard, and whilst he may not be blessed with talent he makes up for it in his play. When he is in on goal he is clinical and is not afraid to run at defenders, i think Wenger made an error putting him out wide when he came on last night, he would probably have done a much better job up front. Hopefully the spell at Norwich will make teach him alot and ready him for when we need him next season.

Now onto a little bit of transfer speculation, it appears Dan Agger may be leaving Liverpool in January, in my view one of the premierships finest defenders. The price is heard to be around 10 million, not bad for a player of that calabre, he has not had the best of luck with injuries so should Wenger have a look? Tell me what you think in the comments!

Real Madrids Mahamadou Diarra is linked with a move to us, for as little as 5-10 million, i dont believe a word that source says though, especially when they chuff out this shit.

Theres not really anything else kicking about today… so il be back soon with the latest.

Til then.
