Arsenal 2-0 Man Citeh: this team is Cescy 3

Posted on April 05, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

Fantastic result yesterday, moreover, we have two of our best players back and boy were they back with a bang.

Phil Brown won’t be happy about that new tattoo of Cesc’s though….. maybe he will ask for the FA report back so he can edit it?

Have your say|Wenger reaction| Highlights

It took less than ten minutes for us to open the deadlock and it was the returning Tognator who simply stood there and nodded the ball in off his bonce. It was simple but the effect the goal will have on him will probably be massive. He has captain Fabregas to thank for a delightful free kick delivered into the box, it was of the highest quality.

It could be seen that the players had just come back off international duty but the performance was still outstanding, there was so much quality in the side and it had van Persie, Nasri and Eduardo missing. Its mouthwatering – the thought that this side was not even full strength.

The second goal was beautiful: Fabregas chipped a millimetre perfect pass over the gormless defender and Adebayor then semi rounded the keeper and put the ball in the net. Game. Set. Match.

Fabregas was unstoppable.

We didn’t add to that but there was a feeling we had a couple more gears to move up if the need was there, Emmanuel Eboue is a totally different player now and had a big impact on the game. What have they started putting in his porridge?

The only worry seems to be over Theo Walcott who took several blows to his right knee in the game, I worried when he was repeatedly sent back onto the pitch after treatment only to be on the ground again ten minutes later. He finished off with an ice pack round his knee after the game so might be a doubt for Tuesday but we will have to wait until tomorrow for more news on that. Hopefully he will be okay. Nasri, Eduardo and Diaby look set to miss out though.

Most importantly we have hit the ground running and it turned out to be easier than I for one was expecting, we have got the momentum going again and it will be vital with a massive month ahead of us, there is no better way to start it than the performance of yesterday.

I really enjoyed watching the game, the stadium was basked in beautiful spring sunshine, it was warm and we hit our stride straight away. You have to applaud City for not parking the bus in front of the goal…it was good to see a different approach.

This was also good to see: despite the ongoing crap surrounding Cesc’s future he made a statement in the match programme:

“Once more, there have been stories in the media recently talking about my future, I’m very happy at Arsenal and have said it many times – but I cannot control what the newspapers say or stop the press. When they speak for me, I don’t understand it because only my friends, family and the boss know what I think.  It’s just a story that will go on and on, even if I was to say I would stay and retire here!  I’ve said many times I’m proud to be captain of this club and I see my future with Arsenal. All that I want to do is to focus on my football and finish the season very well because I think Arsenal have a lot to say in the next few weeks.”

Amen to that. Stick that up your hairy chuffs NOTW.

But…you guessed it, some other twat has come up with some sort of story concerning Fabregas. Catch this:

At present manager Arsene Wenger is worried that Fabregas will be able to buy out his contract for around £16m next year under FIFA rules. But if Fabregas agrees a new deal this summer, Real Madrid or Barcelona would have to pay nearer to £25million to sign him in 2010.

Riiiiiight. Fabregas is on an EIGHT YEAR DEAL. Go bark up some other tree.

Thats all for today, i will leave you with this little present:

Cesc Fabregas: Barca’s new number four 2

Posted on March 27, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

We have reached half way, come on guys we can’t give up now. Please stay with me during the next seven days as the insanity of this international break continues.

Now, the title. You may think, ‘this blogger is such a twat’ or ‘not another of these idiots writing out their arse’, or along many other similar lines that are fairly unprintable on this blog. Actually its not unprintable. Its more like i can’t be fussed to write them.

You are probably right thinking it by the way because i am a twat and i am also an idiot writing out my arse, see? The last few lines prove that.

I have chosen to go with this title because it will be one you are all waking up to due to Cesc Fabregas’ dad saying his son is ‘flattered’ at interest from Barcelona. He has joined Gael Clichy and Amaury Bischoff in being ‘flattered’ this week. It seems some clubs are on the pull.

His father (Cesc’s) has said:

“Any person in a job likes it if another company tells them they are fans and that they would like them to join their company. Of course, he likes to hear that Barca or Milan or Madrid like him, anyone would.”

Now the media will twist that, i put money on it. They will ignore the fact he also said this which, unlike any agent or perma-tanned northern loudmouth may say, shows what kind of guy Cesc is:

“The only thing that I can say about Florentino Perez is that four years ago he came to us and we said no. There was a lot of money on the table and we said no. We felt that it was not the best moment for Cesc to move. He has to think of himself and it is not all about money.”

That is music to my ears. You do start to lose the faith sometimes with all the mercenaries in football today, to hear a player plays the game because he just loves playing football with his club is, sadly, a rarity these days.

Not content with winning my love with the previous statement, Cesc’s father continued:

“We are all Barca fans in the family, but everyone must understand that we are with Arsenal. At this moment, he is happy and enjoying himself there. The club values him highly,”

Oh how that has just brightened my week. Seriously! Cesc is going to be around for a long time yet so Gooners you have no need to worry, our diamond is here to stay.

Yes Phil Brown, he is here to stay and you hopefully are not. Jog along with your petty little lie filled petitions, you and your sort are not welcome in English football.

This is about as lively it has got this week. ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz *snores*…..

A lot has been made this week of Adebayor’s call up to the Togo squad – Even more was made when it was announced that he was going to start. Wenger kindly cleared this up for us today:

“Adebayor has gone away with Togo. Will he play or not? He will have tests. For us, he was ready to play. Ideally it is good for us and for him to have a game. There is no problem.I had a meeting with their manager and we knew he would be ready for this weekend, whether it was for us or for Togo.”

So to summarise for all you dimwitted, lazy, hypocritical hacks out there:

Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor was FIT to play at the weekend but was not risked. Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor ISN’T disobeying orders from Arsene Wenger and Arsenal FC.

In addition. Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor will not be moving in a ’spectacular 34 million pound move to AC Milan. A) They can’t afford him. B) His agent says so.

I’m not quite so sure on the reliability of ‘B’ but as he signed a new contract in the summer i don’t think he will be going anywhere just yet.

Our little dancing Russian Andrey Arshavin is raking in the praise at the moment, Guus Hiddink has joined in the throng and picked up from where Dennis Lachter left off:

“One should show a stable high level of football for a long time to claim the Ballon d’Or trophy. And I am sure that Andrei Arshavin is able to do so.

“he is not only spectacular but also an effective player”

He is capable of reaching those heights, as many others have already said i wish we had brought him earlier in the season but one thing is for sure. We have one hell of a player on our hands here. Watch out. The article is a welcome read, find it here.

Nice to see this was hidden. Shameful, why don’t they put it on the back page where they misinformed an entire nation of a 20 year old’s character? One thinks they recieved a call from a certain someone’s lawyer.

Just before i bring this to a close i want to say i have it on good authority that the away kit for next season will not be green. I will bring you more when/if it is confirmed.

Thanks for you feedback – its all very helpful, if you want to add more feel free to do so in the comments section!

Right, get your mitts on that lot.

’til tomorrow

ps. Also cop a look at this fine article from our friends over there. Interesting reading.

Eduardo or Walcott to start in Rome + Shut it Phil Thompson 1

Posted on March 09, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

That’s my thinking on it and i think it will be Theo Walcott.

Before i continue i want to apologise for the shortness of this post, I’m tired after 5-a side and mightily pissed off at a crap referee – anyway back to Arsenal.

Eduardo will not start two games in four days, Wenger would just not risk it, but Walcott only got around 25 minutes on Sunday so if any of those will start it will most likely be Theo and with Roma chasing the game, his pace will be a massive threat to their back line and he will force them back. It would be a risk but one worth taking in my opinion, just knowing how fast he is will play on the defenders minds.

Emmanuel Adebayor is out of the Roma game so that means we will probably see Eduardo in a substitute role as Van Persie and Bendtner were rested at the weekend in preparation for this game, they have the potential to cause the Roma defence a lot of problems without the shielding of De Rossi who is a big part of the system they play. I will go into this in more depth tomorrow.

Wenger has spoken about Eduardo’s form since his return and i have been as impressed with his attitude as his finishing skills, i really do think we have a hell of a player on our hands here because he is such an intelligent player, Theo Walcott agrees with this:

“I have learned from watching him while he has been injured, how well he took everything in and how he smiles when he comes in every day. So I am happy for him. As for his finishing, that is ridiculous. It is unbelievable to watch in training. He hasn’t lost his touch and he never will. He is going to score many more like that one on Sunday I hope. He’s a brilliant finisher and we’ve missed that. I think that goal was the best finish I have seen this year so I am very happy for him.”

If every member of that Arsenal squad learnt from Eduardo’s attitude we would have one hell of a squad let me tell you, no moaning, just get out there and get the job done. Football does the talking.

Johann Djourou thinks he can cement a place in the starting eleven after being likened to a ‘young Sol Campbell’ by Kolo Toure. I think he can be that good but the lack of first team action is probably hindering him a bit at the moment. He said:

“Sol was a fantastic player for us, but I think I can do a bit more in terms of being comfortable on the ball and going forward – I’d say the kind of player I could develop into is more like Marcel Desailly. But it’s very nice of Kolo to say that, of course, because Sol Campbell is just a legend! He has everything you need to be a top defender, and he was exactly that for this club. He’s got that aggression and tactical ability, is good in the air and is very strong.”

It is really good to see he is aiming high and he has the potential to be a great defender. The key in that setence is the word potential. I do admit, he will make it if im honest with you. He continued,

“I told myself at the start of the season that I have to work hard even if I’m not first choice because I’m still young, but I think I’ve shown to people that I’m ready for this.”

Experience is key in defenders, lets not forget he is a fully fledged international player and has been for some time now, he is set for big things but i see him waiting behind Gallas and Toure for a while, especially after the run of clean sheets they have had before the WBA game.

This guy needs to shut up and go away, he is pesky, annoying and his bias is so strong its beyond belief. Just put his name into YouTube and you will see what a berk he is.

Transfer speculation about Barnetta.

Thats the lot, Til Tomorrow

Arsenal bid for Pele + Huntelaar link thoughts + Gazidis does not rule out Usmanov takeover 4

Posted on February 19, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

Alright you lot, fair bit today, makes a change eh?

This has actually taken ages to write because i think my computer has contracted a very fucking annoying virus. If i ever find anyone that has ever sent me a virus i will actually stick a red hot poker up their anal passage, then insert their penis into a food blender. Anyway,

First up the speculation linking us to French ‘keeper Yoann Pele, this has surfaced due to comments from him saying he would like to play for Laurent Blanc or Arsene Wenger when his contract runs out at the end of the season. His words were;

“Working with Laurent Blanc and Arsene Wenger would be pleasant.”

Cue the headlines ‘PELE SET FOR ARSENAL!’ and the likes, quite humorous actually. For what its worth i don’t think we will be in for him because Almunia is firmly our number one, and i don’t think Fabianski will be given up on yet by Wenger, very, very unlikely in my book.

Ivan Gazidis has spoken with confidence about the club not being affected much by the big fat recession we are in the middle of at the moment, he says that our ‘unbelievable assets’ will see us though comfortably in the next few difficult years and put a very positive spin on all things Arsenal before moving on to the Alisher Usmanov issue, here are a few quotes picked out from the waffle of the actual interview conducted by Reuters.

On the club’s assets and future in the current economic climate:

“I believe we are going to be very successful. We have some unbelievable assets that are going to mean that in the environment that we are heading into, which is challenging for everybody over the next few years, we are going to be very successful,”

This may be a hint at dropping ticket prices?:

“We have an incredibly solid fan base, a long waiting list for season tickets. We’ve got our own stadium that holds 60,000 people, so we are very well positioned in relative terms, but that doesn’t mean that we can sail along as if nothing has changed economically because that’s unrealistic,”

Highlighting that we probably DO need to be in the Champions League next season:

“This club has to be in the Champions League, regardless of the business model. Any year that we are not in it is a major disappointment. There is always this short-term pressure, which is right and is part of being in football — we should want to be champions every single year. I think one of the things we believe is that money isn’t the only driver of success on the field,”

How long before a tabloid picks up on that first nine words?

On the job as a whole he had this to say:

“It is not just a job. You have the hopes and expectations of not only so many people, but also history. I feel that on my shoulders. It is a responsibility I take very seriously. If I can walk away someday, hopefully a long time from now, and say I did not let the club down, then I will feel pretty good about myself.”

After the first month of him being at the club it seems he knows how important his job is, and the importance of doing it right. He has talked the talk, i think he will do well. He does not seem like a bullshitter – so far.

On the Usmanov front he was pretty cagey, he was keen to point out that both on and off field affairs are separate, something you would expect him to say in such a situation. What is worrying is that he did leave the Usmanov takeover subject fairly open, saying;

“It is very important to this club that it is run on a self-sustaining basis,” he said. What that does is release you from the day-to-day pressures of anything that may be happening at board level. The club effectively functions as a club independent of what ownership changes may take place.”

That certainly does not say ‘Usmanov will not be taking over the club anytime soon’ or likewise, ‘Usmanov will take over’. Its an answer open to interpretation and interpret it how you will.

The Arsenal PR team are really working hard at the moment, first there was all that Eboue stuff before the Spurs game during which he succeeded in blowing it all apart, now its Nasri’s turn. In his interview with the Independent he comes across as very positive and firmly believing that The comebacks of our injured players will give the team a ‘new face’;

“I don’t think it is a central midfielder that Arsenal have been lacking. What we have really been missing is the injured players and when they come back you’ll see a different face to this Arsenal team.”

He also talks about his ‘celebrity’ status back in France and the bust up between him and Gallas after he sat in Thierry Henry’s seat on the Euro 2008 team coach. Its a pretty good read and worth a peek.

Adebayor has also been in the media after saying Arsenal need to win something, nothing new there then? We all acknowledge we really do need a trophy and in my opinion, it would be the making of this side. Surprisingly to some of the cynics out there, he also says that team achievement as a whole are far more important than his personal goal tally on what has been a stop start season for him with injuries and that ludicrous suspension he picked up unfairly.

The Mirror have run a NOTW style article on us moving for ‘fed up Real star Huntelaar’. It borders on stupidity, it really does. The guy moved in January and they claim he wants out because he was not in the revised Champions League squad list, the actual reason he is not on the list is because they had to choose between him and Dolphin head.

They then have the cheek to run a ‘10 things you need to know about the Arsenal summer target’. Jesus fucking christ! They really are desperate aren’t they? Its based on nothing and is total and utter bollocks, it will remain so until they have some evidence.

Brazillian striker ‘Nene’ has dismissed speculation linking him to us. Nothing new there then?

Right thats your lot.

Take it easy, up the Gunners.

Do we have a star in Bischoff? Walcott back for Roma tie 0

Posted on February 11, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

Brace yourself guys – the international break has given me something to write about, don’t get used to it though, there are many more days left of this utter boredom with endless articles regurgitated in a bid to liven things up just a little bit.

First up, Amaury Bischoff. Wenger picked him up on a free from Werder Bremen i believe and with an injury prone past it looks a pretty puzzling decision, but he has impressed in the reserves and last night scored a lovely goal for Portugal under 21’s. Look at this finish;

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSvoZw-iqfg]

He is a playmaker type player that clearly has talent, he is behind a normal 21 year old in terms of development as he has been out with injury so much, but since his switch from Bremen he has remained injury free and maybe at the end of this season he will have had a few games and be offered a longer contract. He would add depth to the squad and create even more competition for places because at the moment, we really need it to get the best out of the players on the field. It will be interesting to see what happens to him over the next six months or so.

Good news on the Theo Walcott front, he hopes to be fit to play in the Champions League tie at the end of the month against Roma, it would be a massive boost to the team and he will offer something we have really missed, pace in the last third and on the counter attack which is vital in our Champions League campaign. We might need to win it to be in the competition next season. He said in his on-line webchat the other day.

“I am nearly there, and hopefully [will be back] by the end of this month. “I am seeing a specialist on February 24 so he will give me the heads [up]. Maybe it can be for that game I don’t know. I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up but I hope to be back by the end of the month certainly.”

It will be great when he is back, he did point out that exactly the same thing could happen to his right shoulder though which is perhaps a slight concerning.

One man that probably will be is Gilberto Silva with his club Panathinaikos and he has been saying how sad he is at how this season is going for us and after spending most of his career at our club he must care, even if we did ship him out a season too early. He had this to say;

“It’s hard for a big club like Arsenal to be so long without a title and the team is also very young, They need time and this is the problem at Arsenal – when you are in a big club you don’t have much time to grow up and they don’t know how to cope under pressure. The pressure is there and the young players need a lot of support from the experienced players to get them through, but it’s hard for the experienced players to help them in the situation they have.”

I really do feel that we should have kept him for the benefit of Song and Denilson as they need someone like Gilberto to learn from and coach them in a way Wenger has said helped Van Persie become the player he has under the guidance of Dennis Bergkamp, he describes Van Persie as ‘ Bergkamp but with a few more goals’, im paraphrasing there but you catch my drift. They lack guidance at the moment and Gilberto would have been perfect for that.

Adebayor has been given the African Player of the Year award for his goals last season, behind Michael Essien and some other bloke who’s name i can’t say, Ade was happy all his work had been recognised and is proud of his work towards African football as a whole, for all his criticism on the pitch recently, he does do a lot for football back in Togo and Africa as a whole, he really does care about where he came from and for that he deserves credit. He took part in a BBC Radio 4 programme in the summer at the height of his transfer speculation, many listeners we I’m sure wanting news about a transfer… it was pre-recorded and everyone was a bit disappointed. Ade said on recieving his award,

“I’m very happy to have received this award, I’m highly honoured by what I have done in African football and now that the World Cup is coming close and is in Africa, we’ll work hard to win the championship.”

Well done to him, he does deserve it whatever his form has been like this season. I have a feeling he will regain that form of last season, hopefully when he returns from his injury.

Now, an un-Arsenal subject, player salary caps and the Cuntini and Shatter proposal for foreign player quota’s.

First to the news that top clubs have rejected salary caps, thats hardly surprising is it? I’m in favour of it in some respects, but in others im totally against it. To be concise, if there were different categories of players like for example ‘band A’, ‘band B’ and ‘band C’. With ban A earning a maximum of say 120K a week and so on and so forth. That is workable with a limit for each category. On the foreign quota all i can say without having my blog removed is that it contravines EU law and i would like to see them get their ugly heads around that.

Fabianski has also been saying that despite being ‘fustrated’ at his lack of games, he made the right decsion in joining. Great, another youngster who thinks he should be in the first eleven, along with Bendtner. God, are they not just satisfied with their millions a year?

Right, i really should have not have posted all these stories on one day, i’ll regret it tomorrow, or maybe even the day after when there is fook all to write about.

Til tomorrow,

Up the Gunners.

We will be in the UEFA Cup next season 4

Posted on February 09, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

Let me start off by saying that if i ever see Emmanuel Eboue in a red and white shirt again i will not be happy. He is a disgrace.

It was a gripping game of Sunday League quality and there were three stand out performers, Wilson Palacios, Manuel Almunia and Alex Song. We started nervously and ironically, Eboue was the best man on the pitch early on, yes, it was that rubbish. He had a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out early on (13 minutes) and that seemed to make him flip. He proceeded to piss off the referee so much he got booked for dissent, then the silly bastard kicked Luka Ratface and got a second yellow, all before the clock had hit forty minutes.

Dear oh dear oh dear.

Wilson Palacios was a man mountain in the middle of the park and oh how i wish he was playing for us right now, he stopped Van Persie from dropping deep and effortlessly snuffed out the non existent attacking threat from a very tired looking Denilson and the superb Alex Song. Yes, he had a good game.

Adebayor is going to be out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury and the man with 8 goals in 8 derby games was off before the clock hit forty as well, it seemed then the game was destined for anything but an Arsenal win.

We are very fortunate to come away from that utterly crap performance with a point, especially as we had Fat Toure partnering Gallas, Wenger is now paying the price for bowing to Toure’s demand for the captaincy because Gallas will not settle for the bench so he is in a rut. The only way out of that is more upheaval and giving the armband to Almunia or Van Persie.

Almunia was immense, he commanded the area unlike any keeper has in recent memory, Lehmann had a tendency to flap and so does Almunia at times but he did not flap once, he was quick and correct in his decisions and pulled off a fantastic save in the dying minutes, i thought it was in. I had my eyes shut.

Robbie Keane man of the match? He was pretty awful, it should have gone to Palacios or Almunia.

Wenger pulled off his compulsory ‘i did not see it’ phrase, maybe he didn’t, it looked like the ref needed the help of the linesman and the tv cameras did not pick it up instantly either so i will give him the benefit of the doubt, just this once. He was chuffed with a draw, i wasn’t, but he said,

“I believe we had a resilient, committed attitude and I’m proud of our attitude during the 90 minutes. But I feel it is two points dropped because we had the best chances and we scored a regular goal that was ruled out by an illusionary foul seen by only the referee. I watched it three times on television and I still don’t see what was wrong. That is why at the end of the day it’s frustrating. “We keep going. We have a momentum it is true but we didn’t score today. We haven’t lost for 11 games now and we just keep going.”

What is the point of an unbeaten run if its full or draws? You might actually gain more by going gung-ho every now and again and nicking a winner. On Eboue’s sending off he did not really go into great detail, but sort of agreed that he deserved the red,

“I believe that the first yellow card was very harsh. You have players who make 15 fouls in the game but don’t get a yellow card. What he did was clumsy but the first yellow card was very hard. The second one, I haven’t seen. They have told me that he has retaliated, if he has retaliated then he deserves a yellow and a red card. It doesn’t matter who saw it. If someone saw it for real then he deserves to be sent off. We deal with our problems internally. The newspapers never help us to sort out problems out. If he has retaliated today then we’ll see. I want to first see it before I assess the situation. It was impossible to see what happened because the ball had gone.”

The fact is that Eboue’s reaction would have warranted a red card for violent conduct anyway, meaning the first yellow is irrelevant. Im not going to go into it much because he is a disgrace to the football club. He has since issued an apology but the fact is he is at fault for not thinking of the team before kicking rat face and the other members of the team are at fault for not dragging the bastard away from the ref, he was moaning for long enough, where is the leadership?

Eboue said in his statement;

“I am sorry this game was very, very important for us. We must always win when we play against Tottenham and give our best for the fans.”

Ok, ok cut the shit Manu, this is the bit that riles me,

“I say thank you to my friends [team-mates] who gave everything. We drew and we are happy. It is a good point for us after playing so long with 11 v 10.”

For starters, its Tottenham and if these foreign boys don’t understand how much this fixture means to us they are even more stupid than i think. This is Tottenham, not bloody Barnsley. It means a hell of a lot to us fans and to be satisfied with a point, especially when this muppet got sent off is enough to make fans’ blood boil. Fuck off Manu.

Oh how we are going to need these two

We now find ourselves six points off fourth place and eight points behind Villa, we will be very lucky to get fourth this season. O Neill is a manager that knows how to take chances from his time at Celtic and will not choke under pressure. You can’t see Chelsea dropping out the top four and to be honest, i think we will get fifth this season. Not good. Lets hope im wrong, please.

Right, thats your lot for today. Take care in the snow.

Til Tomorrow

up the Gunners.

If we don’t win this one kiss goodbye to the Champions League 9

Posted on February 08, 2009 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

That’s the reality of it, eight points will be too much to overhaul at this stage of the season and you just know Chelsea won’t drop out the big four. If there will be a team dropping out of it, it will be us.

We just have to win.

Depleted of the services of Fabregas, Eduardo, Rosicky, Walcott, and Diaby means that we will probably send out most of last weeks team, with the addition of Alex Song and Robin Van Persie, who in my opinion should captain the side.

The game has come far too soon for Andrey to start, and he might not even feature so if the scum mark Van Persie out the game, don’t expect a win. One man that will be needed is Adebayor who has been very poor, he work ethic has disappeared and he thinks he is Thierry Henry, climb down Ade and work your bloody socks off because you have a good record against the scum and if you win this game for us, last summer will be totally forgiven i am sure. Wenger agrees,

“Adebayor has a good record against Tottenham, but we have good players and simply that is the best reason to explain it. Before him, Robert Pires had a good record. Sometimes, I thought about not playing him at the start because it was [a] kicking and tackling game and he was not a tackling player. Then I would put him on at half time and he turned up with a goal because he was relaxed.”

He has eight goals against them in eight appearances including that stunner at that shoebox lane last season, another couple of them would be rather nice and improve my weekend somewhat. Before i move on to more team news Ive got a few things to say about the official website, just read this;

‘The Gunners’ backline was uncharacteristically leaky earlier on in the season’

What planet are they on for god’s sake? Our defence has been shite for the last four seasons, ‘uncharacteristically’?, ‘uncharacteristically’? Do they even watch Arsenal play?

Back onto the match build up and one man who we will need at the back is Sagna who has been, apart from a few minor instances, superb this season, Wenger is of an opinion that he has been key to us managing our leaky defence and making it slightly less leaky. But it still is leaky. If we are to get back into the top four we need to stop our defence being leaky.Anyway, he said;

“I believe Sagna has had a very good season, at one stage we had conceded too many goals, so we encouraged our defenders to be a bit more cautious. A defender does not like to concede goals. When you do and do not win, they become a bit more apprehensive to go forward. Bacary Sagna is a very reliable defender – and if you look at the goals we concede he is one who is the least involved in making mistakes.”

He is our best defender by a mile and is one of the best in the world, i really think he is that good. If there is one signing that Wenger can proudly say has been great value, and not been a kid, it is most definitely Sagna.

Wenger has also been saying how happy he is that the scum are wasting their money on buying big fat triangle headed bags of shite. Anyone remember this little edit?

robbiekeanetriangleheadWhat an utter Muppet. On moving to Liverpool ‘oh yes its my lifelong dream, i know I’m shit really but i will make lots of money and i will finally get out of that shithole of a small club.‘ On failing epically at his new club he comes crawling back saying ‘oh my real home is here, i never wanted to leave but i got chased out of town by a big bunch of bum bandits wielding big long rubber dildo’s.’ Turncoat.

The scum have spent 48 million this past month, its despicable, and they are still a big pile of shite. It seems the scum’s transfer policy is to let their players go, then when they are found out for the big pile of shitty shit they are, they go crawling back. I mean, Chimbonda, CHIMBONDA! That useless maize field headed donkey. Can’t hack it at Sunderland so goes back to the scum. Shows how good they are doesn’t it.

Our signing, the one we negotiated down from twenty million to ten, will not start today, i expect him to get ten minutes or so and be our wildcard option if you like. Wenger was waiting to see him in training yesterday to see how he was faring,

“I will have reservations yes, The worst thing for a player is not being ready to play in a game of that intensity, or getting injured before having kicked a ball for the team. I will see what kind of shape he is in tomorrow to see if he will be involved in the squad or not. We are not in a hurry with him.”

It will give the team and the fans a boost to see him, that’s for sure.

On the game its vital we win or we are buggered, somehow, i don’t think we will, even a draw is not enough. This team will be up for the game and if we partner Gallas and Toure together we will get incessantly raped. We need to be clinical, strong and compact, we can’t let Jenas the penis get near the goal because he always scores against us, we have to keep a clean sheet and bury every chance we get.

This is not the time to be fanny-ing  around in the box tapping it to each other. Go there, get the job done and move onto the next game. Yes its the scum but id much rather get three points than play pretty football, anything else than a win is a bonus, if we play them off the park and injure every single one of their players, all the better.

Come on Arsenal, do it for the fans, and for the sake of our sanity.
