For a little while now, Barcelona have allowed us and our captain to just get on with life at Arsenal. Over the summer we saw quote after quote from Barcelona players and staff calling for Cesc to join their little group of girls over at the Nou Camp because their grass was greener than ours, or some-such reason.

Whilst Lionel Messi may be the greatest player in the world on the pitch, he is swiftly becoming an odious little upstart off it. Speaking to the Spanish press he had plenty to say about Cesc and where he should be playing football and winning things, the latter being more than a bit ironic given the result on Wednesday.

Messi, who has only just emerged from the pocket of Laurent Koscielny, said:

“I think that in the end Cesc will do what he feels like doing, the same with Barcelona, I am certain he wants to come to Barcelona because he has realised this in the only club where he can win.”

Even after beating them, Barcelona are still strutting about like the arrogant fairies they are. From a footballing perspective I admire them but that apart, they are scum. I really do not understand why football fans, and Arsenal fans in particular, look up to them. Even on the pitch they are known cheats, Busquets and Messi both have form for falling to the ground quicker than someone who has just been smashed around the back of the head with a rock, then looking at the financial morals of a club which are pretty much supported by friendly banks – I don’t want Arsenal to have anything in common with Barcelona other than trophies.

I would love nothing more than to beat them in three weeks time.

Time to bring this back…

Barca tapping-up of Cesc Fabregas – The Proof

Just a quick one.

I suffered the ordeal of reading the comments of a cretin in the newspaper yesterday. The perpetrator or those comments was none other than the United player Patrice Evra – you know the one who called our players a bunch of babies and then threw the mother of all strops in the World Cup last summer?

Read the comments of that disgusting little individual here.

One player who could show up Evra for the moron that he is on Monday, and that man is Samir Nasri. Hopefully he will have him on his arse trying to find the way back to his feet as his two brain-cells evade him, the man has about as much decorum and eloquence as a hungry caveman.

On the other hand, Nasri has class:

Forgive me for not being cheery today.

I think yesterday football sank almost to the lowest I have ever known it. All week we had had statement after statement from Wayne Rooney and Man United, Rooney wanted to leave and believe me, he definitely had an offer from the other side of Manchester, his agent would have made sure of that before drafting his penultimate statement re-affirming his desire to leave.

I don’t believe Rooney’s motivation was pure greed, however, the leech that he calls an agent encapsulates the bluntest definition of the word.

Now I am guessing that Rooney is Stretford’s (his agent) most lucrative client, if he isn’t, he is certainly in the top few. He is said to be pocketing nearly ten million pounds for the deal that was signed yesterday, it will be over a period of five to six years but it is still a humongous sum of money – he effectively used Rooney to bribe United into upping his salary by £100,000 a week and therefore maximise his cut of the deal. Believe me, Rooney isn’t innocent but he was played as much as United were. Stretford took advantage of his doubts and saw his chance. It was ruthless greed that shows football needs to shake off it’s clingers on more than ever.

Hours after Rooney’s contract had been signed yesterday, Portsmouth FC released a statement saying that the club is heading towards liquidation. This was a team who three years ago won the FA Cup, a team that reached the final of the same competition last year. It is another club that has been infiltrated with leeches and they have sucked the very life out of the club, leaving what is effectively a corpse. One man can stop that club from going under, instead he is just trying to bury it.

Whatever happens today, the ‘working class’ of the working class game, are further than ever from it.
