International weeks are never welcome – however, this international break has come at a rather helpful time for Arsenal. If Arsene can pull himself away from his commentary duties on French TV and get back on the training ground trying to sort out his new-look squad, we could emerge from an international break a much more formidable team for once.
Robin van Persie netted four against San Marino, Park scored three against Lebanon and Ramsey scored against Montenegro – goals are welcome in any shape or form against any opposition. Even better is the news that they all emerged unscathed. We are 50% along the way to what would nearly be a fully fit squad for next weekends game against Swansea.
Jack Wilshere has returned to light training, they will be monitoring his fitness like hawks and trying to ensure that he suffers no reaction – having him back in the middle of the park would be a massive boost, his attitude, class and drive in midfield is much needed. His ability to burst away from a player is an absolute joy to watch.
It is true that our season now starts against Swansea, its a great chance to get three points under our belts and start the fight-back; that is what we have to do: fight. Look at United and City… yes, they have better squads than us, they have strengthened and we have weakened – if we fight we can beat them though, it sounds ridiculous after getting pounded 8-2 but we can beat them, and the players must believe that when we face them.
Our dip has come early enough in the season to rectify the situation, we have only played three games and whilst we may have conceded a lot of goals and been humiliated by the champions, we still have 35 games to catch up.
It goes without saying that the summer was dreadful, it must be put behind us now, we have to move on and get on with our season. The squad is significantly stronger than it was this time last week, we have games against Swansea, Blackburn, Bolton and Spurs coming up in the league, two at home and two away – we also play Shrewsbury, Dortmund and Olympiakos in that time, they are all winnable games.
For now though, lets hope the players emerge from the next round of internationals unscathed.

Arsenal News 24/7

Well,am happy with Jack’s return to training.I am also happy that our players are still fit even after the 1st int’l games..I hope they scale through unscathed
arsenal look stronger all round the 8 2 will put fight into them looking good from now
Welcome jack we are now back on track BIG TIME here we come swansea
Our dip in form stems back to last season’s CC final, so I’m looking forward to a return to winning ways, its way overdue. C’mon you Gunners!
Its nice having wilshere back because we really missed him all this while, so am extreemly happy over that. up Gunners for life……., nothing mega. I will contneou to support arsenal till the end no matter what.
actually, as both Mancs have better squad than us,they might even win most games against us..but we gotta remember, we can still win the league without winning those games…last yr, we had the best record against the top 4,but were far behind them for loosing against lower teams…now that we’ve added players with massive experience against us, I’m looking forward to this season because these experienced players surely will help us against the lower teams when we are in a slump…
Can’t wait to see the full squad back and see what these players who all have something to prove can achieve. Arsenal forever
welcome back jack!
it looks like our midfield against swansea will be jack, mikel and crazy frimpy. i am also happy because our next 5 games are winnables then the new team will take time to gel before we meet chelsea.
but january transfer should be early. cahill for 6 millions and maybe hazard if he’s available. i still fancy the belgian monster from everton(marouane fellaini).
january will also bring another headache as gervinho will leave for african cup. hopefully miyaichi can cover, i don’t worry about chamakh going, he’s not longer first choice anyway and i hope benik afobe takes his place soon.
VICTORIA CONCORDIA CRESCIT
i hope jack is rested against swansea. no reason to bring him on for more than 10-15 min (to get match fitness back) and risk a re-injure for the umpteenth time .
We would catch up with the top two by December, we need not worry. I think we would win against smaller teams this season against whom we struggled last season that would be more than enough.
Martin, could you verify, if we actually did bid for the likes of Gotze/Hazard or not…I mean I just can’t see us bidding for players with that kind of price tags..maybe we made checks but to bid for superstars of teams who are already in the champions league and have just won their domestic league titles seems far-fetched to me…even if we had bid for them and got them, we would have had to pay our highest wages to them already and in 3 years time, they could do a Nasri for we would be unwilling to offer massive pay rise to them…so thinking long term, it just is hard to believe…
I get the M’Vila bid though…his club isn’t in the Champions league, he’s a rising superstar but isn’t paid a ludicrous amount of money and we even wouldn’t have to make him our highest paid…
Martin, do you know, if we’re tracking Christian Eriksen or not…he actually rejected Man Shitty this year, because he thought his progress would have stalled because of all the superstars they’ve got…so he is a level headed player…and reports suggests he was offered massive payrise by Shitty but even then, it was equal to 70000 pounds a week…so i feel if we’ve tracked him, we should be in for him sooner as his wage is still not ludicrous enough to put us off…
Am d most happiest hearng dat arsenal MF commander is back 2 training. Pray dat he remains feet 4 d rest of d cson.
Jack! U are most welcome.
wheelchair is back, good news, he can learn alot from arteta and yossi, with the arival of mertesacker if can make our defence solid then i dont see any reason why we cant be up there with the best, our defensive high line and defensive mistakes have been a nightmare, we need the defence to play deeper and our midfield to control the game, wenger needs to change our tactics and the formation, RVP up on his own is isolated and we dont give him enough supply, we were ok when we had fab, i hope arteta can be a big plus for us in the middle with song and wilshere, my line up is
schezny
sagna mertesacker vermaelen santos
song
arteta wilshere
walcott RVP gervinho
I am an arsenal fan 2 d cal.i belived in AW.wit d combinati of our new signing.we hv a space @ top
@gun blazing
i saw chamberlain play on the wing with england under21.
i think walcott needs to find his place in the middle coz he’s about to lose his place.
good 2 av jack back, some people are calling 4 a change in formatiom .ie frm 433 to 442/4411,so considering our favourite mid/foward trio of song, jack, arteta,,,gervinho, van persie, walcott. whom can we omit/add thus 2 accomodate the 442 form’tion?jack?
@sam
yeh m8 ure right, its good to have competition for positions, players have been comfortable for too long, now players like arshivin, djorou, walcott, rosicky etc are going to have to try harder to keep their place in the first team, its good to have healthy competition, we cant wait to see our new players
it is nice to see him back on the pitch cos there wil b more competition in the squad and that is what we need now and winnig atleast 2 trophies.
wseslkom back little jack , he is one the best midfielder in recent time in arsenal and we are happy to see him back to fitness ARSENAL NEW FORMATION 4 4 2 szecnzny sagna mertesacker vermaelen dos santos walcott song arteta yossi park persie
am jst seeing dat jack wilshere nd seczeny was nt added to the 21th man squad dat is surmmited, why
Don`t like making predictions but this year I did.
As soon as the fixtures were published, and appreciating the state Arsenal was in at the time, I predicted one point from the first three games and our season to start on September 10th against Swansea.
Without getting carried away I expect a very encouraging result at Emirates.
our won’t start until wenger is fired. cannot wait for that!
sorry, our season won’t satrt, until teh clown wenger is fired
I honestly think that everyone is underestimating Dortmund. We don’t do well against German sides and this time we face our No.1 Summer target Super Mario Gotze, who WILL, run rings around us!
danny!
you are wasting your time, wenger is bulletproof as long as arsenal board is concerned. if you want him out so badly you can only pray he walks away after too much pressure.
you should know that no top manager will work for this sharky board.
mourinho won’t last 5 minutes with them because he loves to spend. the closest thing to arsene wenger is david moyes forget all the names being mentioned because they won’t come.
you can see for yourself that top players refused to sign for us in the summer because we don’t pay good salaries. we had to dig deep to find these 5 players.
and guess what? the french genius made profits for them again by spending less and qualified for the champions league.
january transfer window will be interesting to see how much they will sanction to strengthen the squad. if we play well you will be lucky to see them allowing any big signing.
@49unbeaten
we are also underestimating swansea. count how many players they have on international duties. meaning they will have enough rest before they face us.if we fail to outplay them and score goals early, expect the same old arsenal to get tired and make things difficult after 60 minutes.
all our first 11 are playing international games expect maybe wilshere if its fit and arteta.
its gonna be an easy win
correction!
i meant its not gonna be easy to beat swansea
the only that can give me joy is the returnin4 of jack
correction! it IS going to be easy to beat Swansea (with all due respect)
jack u are wellcome bak our, team luk strong now as we forge ahead, since d past is gone.
@justix… Under 21 playas ar nt included in the 25 squad list, dey can play without bein registered until dey r 21 nd above. Welcome bak my lad wilshere… We missd u so much. Gunners 2infinity!
I have to say these is the worse Arsenal blog in living memory and the writer need to spend at least 6 months in intensi e writing course. Also the website itself is most depressing ever, Get someone experienced in website i do a good imple layout for you…..
Now on Jack story it been confirmed today he would be out for three months, So also avoid speculations and it would better to live that to Legrove of these world or arsebkog……also looking at comment it look like you are not alone in needing help with the English language.
