Does anyone actually know what is going on?

It is hard to imagine that in seven days time the first game of the new season will have taken place. There is a remarkably strange feeling about at the moment.

Possibly that feeling is down to Arsenal looking no better than at the tail end of last season and there being only minute changes in the playing staff. What is worrying though is that Arsenal look undercooked, unprepared and ready for a continuation of what has been a disgusting run of form for most of 2011.

We are lacking the ‘it’ factor, I don’t sense any ambition, any drive – either from the playing staff up to the owner, Stan Kroenke. Complacency seems to be a theme that crops up quite option, and this has led to stagnation and us having to play catch up once again.

Samir Nasri and Cesc seem to have lost a little faith, both jumping at any chance of getting out of the club and is the manager, who has many a past glory but nothing recently to brag about, starting to lose the players who live in the ‘now’ and not the past?

Who is coming up with Arsenal’s transfer targets? Who is trying to secure those targets? Why have we been so utterly hapless when it comes to getting players to join?

And why oh why has it been left so late?

For a manager who was so revolutionary to the English game when he arrived, he is now starting to seem dated, stubborn and stuck rigidly in his own ways. Those ways need to chance. The defence needs to be addressed and the possibility of losing both Vela and Bendtner must mean he is looking to strengthen the strikeforce with more than just Joel Campbell.

A week can be a long time in football. Lets hope that this is one of those cases.
