Arsenal are being shown up as lightweights. At the end of the last season we saw the glass jaw on the pitch – this season we are seeing the glass jaw off the pitch. £34m is the rumoured fee for Cesc from Barca – That will buy you Andy Carrol, and a bit of hair shampoo to smooth his locks. What an utter disgrace.
Cesc is an Arsenal player under law unless an offer is deemed good enough to release him from his contract with Arsenal.The accepting of an offer so mediocre shows Arsenal are not only weak at negotiating the arrival of players, but also their departures. We can’t keep Nasri and Cesc but can’t get rid of Denilson – yet when a £10m offer comes in for Abou Diaby, it is rejected. Laughable business.
Where is the ambition? Where are the players with the names that would boost shirt sales across the globe? That would make business sense, an investment not only on the pitch but commercially.

We lost our backbone six seasons ago when we started buying babies instead of men and the manager seemed to loose the plot big time. We need shot of him as well as all the useless load of rubbish Wenger calls footballers. I see he actually turned down money for Abu Diaby, that goes to show how far we have slipped, we are now the laughing stock of the PL and will be lucky to get through the qualifing rounds of the CL because of our lack of ideas, we have no back up plan in Plan A doesn’t work simply because the manager hasn’t any othe ideas. Get shot of Wenger & get a decent manage who can motivate the team to start winning & not sitting back when we’re 2 up & think we’ve won, look how many times we’ve lost games thinking like that.

I would let Cesc go for £40m, his heart wasn’t in it last year. Get rid of Denilson, Bendtner, Rosicky, Squillaci, that should bring in about another £20 – £25m. There is £60m to spend!!!
Go and get Samba, instead of Cahill (overrated), still leaving about £45m to play with, to buy QUALITY that will make a difference (a GK, Centre Mid, Winger, and forward). Tie down Wilshere & Nasri.
If serious changes are NOT made we can say goodbye to the CL for 2012-2013, and maybe even the Europa League, even Spurs continue to outspend us, which is something else that amazes me, considering they haven’t had any prize money for years and years and years.

Good point Sid! The thing that amuses me most is that when rival clubs by the likes of Jones and Henderson they suddenly become great, ambitious signings, but if we were to do the same then the same these fans would say that we’re spending money on unproven players.

Worrying signs in deed. Not quite doomsday yet thought. It would be nice if Wenger brought in players sooner, rather than later to help ease our worries. It would go along way to restoring a little bit of faith with the fans and more importantly the players (good ones at least). If I was in Nasri’s shoes I wouldn’t commit so easily.Not with the prospect of trophyless seasons ahead.

I don’t really have the time to trawl through the archives but I distinctly remember an article by this blogger sometime around mid-season when Nasri’s contract started becoming an issue.
This blogger,who claims to be ITK, stated at that time that Nasri had a verbal agreement with the club and that Nasri would definitely sign the contract come the end of season.
People really need to chill out. We haven’t sold anyone yet and we haven’t bought anyone as yet. Why? The European transfer window is not even open yet and people are crying into their Arsenal shirts. Martin, being in the know and all that, I thought you would know that we are talking to many clubs about many players and whoever leaves the club will be replaced.
Can we at least wait until the transfer window closes let alone opens before all this utter madness.
And although there is a general consensus among all gooners that Nasri may well stay at the club, the recent rounds of tough negotiations prove that there was obviously no such agreement.

I don’t agree either that all of the above teams have gone for class players – there all chasing “potentials” with none of them buying anyone! Apart from De Gea, who looks decent enough. My question is this, should Arsenal not invest and buy players would you still follow them … yes you would, becuase that’s what supporters do.. but crying over players who haven’t been brought by our so-called rivals is just simply silly. It`s not July yet so I`ll keep my opinions to myself. However, should Wenger not make a concerted effort to stabilze and revitalize Arsenal showing positive results by January then I would support a move to replace him.
£10m for Diaby? when? who? surely not? Crikey this is a fella who starts half as many matches as our captain, half as many as RVP and half as many as Theo Walcott. He has yet to play 4 games on the spin in an Arsenal shirt and has managed to play 90 minutes on only handful of occassions in the last 2 seasons. He has 15 caps for France but has yet to play 90 minutes in any one of those matches. I spend more time on the toilet every day than he spends on the pitch on match day.
We must go back to the team that offered £10m for him and say for £20m we sell you a French Quintet Diaby, Squillaci, Clichy, Traore, Sunu and if you can stretch it to £40m we will chuck in Almunia, Eboue, Denilson, Bendtner, Vela and Rosicky.

A player is having a medical at London Colney today believed to be either Gary Cahill or Gervinho.
I personally think we will bust the bank and buy Mata if Cesc goes. I’d like us also to get Joey Barton on a cut price deal. I think Wilshere, BArton and Ramsey would be decen in midfield. With Mata playin centrally or in Arshavin role, Nasri on the other side and VP up front.
