I was sent a link yesterday to what is claimed to be Arsenal’s home shirt for next season. Of course, the kit will be going along with the 125th anniversary theme and to be honest if this is it I will be wholly disappointed:
I had seen some prospective designs for next season a little while ago and there was one quite similar to this, however there were far better designs there. The simple white sleeves I love and the basis of the shirt is very similar to the one we have now (how many variations of red and white can you have!), but the graphic around the badge is tacky.
It just doesn’t look right. I am no expert on photoshop or any editing programme so I can’t test this pictures authenticity but, I hope it is an incorrect leak.
My perfect anniversary shirt would have a basic cannon, a small Fly Emirates logo underneath it leaving the red and white goodness there for all to see.
Let me know your thoughts:- Have you seen this before? Like? Dislike etc.

I’ve seen this shirt before, and to be honest I don’t like it much. There was a picture of the shirt design you mentioned floating about last year.
IMO I would prefer the design which you mentioned. Simple cannon with a small Fly Emirates logo under it.
Certaintly, i’ve read about this new shirt 2 months ago. For me it’s look very elegant despite the red collar(usually white).. hopefully this mabe our new kit next season..
I don’t see the problem with it. I actually quite like the design. Could you link the other designs you’ve come across that had got your hopes up?
I like the badge. Nice retro kit but not sure if this will be ours.

Badge looks too busy. Just the badge itself or the cannon would look a lot better.
Disappointing doesn’t come close to describing that shirt :/ To be honest though, i’m not too worried. Every summer i see a few shockers that are reported to be the new shirt, and each year i’m surprised with what actually comes out. We’ve had some pretty great kits in the last few years, so i don’t see why next season’s should be any different
I don’t think it’s photoshopped, I don’t think it’s real either though.
It looks like a cheap knock off shirt that gets shifted out the back of vans and from conmen on Ebay.
Do you remember the leak we had last season which looked awesome? Paid homage to the old kit, below the badge was Fly Emirates logo in small writing.
It was beautiful and I was slightly gutted when it wasn’t revealed as the kit.
I’m pretty sure the designers always leak a few images of shirts with ideas they are considering for a final design just to get a general fan opinion. It would make a lot of sense.
As for this version I’m with you Martin, I don’t like it. The badge HAS to be revert back to the old canon, this is a must and it is something which is under the clubs control. There’s too much wrong with this design to even get started.
The wreath around the crest harks back to that used on the Royal Arsenal (I think) crest, so for that reason I like it

The kit you described at the end was appearing in pictures last season but it will never happen- Emirates do not give us millions of pounds to have their logo barely visible beneath our badge. And also, given the world of branding and copyright we live in now I’d be amazed if the club abandoned our current badge in favour of the canon. The kit did look great in pictures and I’d love to see us playing in it, but I’d be VERY surprised.
I think that one you have there is okay though.
Don’t Like!! Needs to square off the sleeves, replace red collar with white and I agree with simple cannon logo. If this the new shirt I will stick to the current one. A shirt that is no nonsense and true to the colours
And if you look at the original source they also have a Barca kit for next season… with Unicef planted across the front rather than the Qatar Foundation who will be their shirt sponsors from this summer. Hardly seems like a reliable source if you ask me.
Well I’ve been to a Nike presentation in belgrade and I saw this arsenal kit but I don’t think it will be this one because in a catalouge Nike gave at the presentation the kit was there and the product was:Arsenal FC 2011-12 home kit however there was no photo above the description the same thing with barca inter man utd etc.

I’ve got a good family source at Nike who reckons he’s seen next year’s – he describes it as all red with 2 white flashes down from the shoulders across the chest. And the away strip will be white.
I hope he’s wrong!

The design should be exactly like france’s new kit: cute collar, redcurrant instead of pillarbox red, white only sleeve and the 1980′s cannon with fly emirates’ picture instead of words…that would fill my pants for sure! gunners against the world baby!

Arsenal change their home kit every two seasons, and the away kit every season.
So I dont think this should be belived!
i think its disgusting that arsenal should be thinking off changeing thier kit again ,and expecting fans to go out and buy a nother new shirt.
i for one won’t be buying any arsenal new shirt no matter what design it is.

Next season is the club’s 125th anniversary so obviously they will want to cash in with a commemorative shirt, and this will probably hark back to the original kit worn by Dial Square.
Meaning that it will be a plain, dark red shirt, white shorts, red socks. Probably with a collar and buttons down the front, similar to a ‘grandad shirt’. Hopefully with our first crest on it.

Zemi – there is likely to be a new home shirt next season purely to cash in. Sounds tenuous but I know a guy who is head of replica shirt sales at Nike and he mentioned he had seen designs for the new shorts. I thought that he meant the new away shirt and training stuff etc. When I asked a few more questions he clammed up.
I’m not keen. It’s not the red collar so much as the badge. I liked the mock ups of the one that was mooted last year – basically the same kit we have now with a small sponsors logo beneath the badge.
Can’t we set up a facebook campaign? It worked for the X factor and Nike have tried to turn the shirt completely red previously. They can’t afford not to listen when the shirt is a important as a 125 anniversary. I’ll make sure the campaign gets noticed.
Oh, forgot to mention – the home shirts are half-price on the Arsenal website alongside the outgoing yellow away kit so…
Who cares about next years home shirt,all im concerned about is who is wearing a home shirt 2morrow at the emirates.rvp,cesc,djourou,song,denilson all to return which is great news.Also samir and tv5 are making very good progress with their fitness which is great to hear ahead of our run in to the end of season.Wolves might just provide a stern test so we must be ultra focused.Getting back to next seasons home jersey,it will be on my back no matter what it looks like,you know we have to give arsene some money to spend on summer transfers,isnt that how it works at our fine club?.
If you look closely the crest pattern does not follow the folds in the shirt whereas the Fly Emirates logo clearly does. I think its a fake image.

For those suggesting that there won’t be a new kit because the 2010-11 shirt will run for a second year… a) Remember the redcurrent shirt was a one year only commemorative. b) the arsenal shop is clearing the 2010-11 shirt at half price.
I love our current kit. I would like the 125th anniversary shirt to remain simple. A small “Fly Emirates” under the crest would be good, but I dont think it will happen. Reverting to the old crest is a must and maybe a mention of the anniversary in small print on the back of the neck as well.
Would also be good to have a nod to history in the away shirt (I loved the 20th anniversary of Anfield away shirt). Can we bring gold back again? Maybe not.
