“He’s obviously got something against me. It’s just weird.”
You don’t say Ryan! We all know that some footballers are, how do you say it.. a bit thick. However, congratulations must be offered to Ryan Shawcross who has taken the definition of stupid to another level.
One season he puts Adebayor out of action for over a month after wiping him out off the field of play, he injures Theo Walcott and then snaps Aaron Ramsey’s leg in two. And, he wonders why Arsene Wenger might have something against him.
The clever spark also added this:
“He always seems to have a problem with Stoke, our manager and certain players.”
Well you have that baseball cap wearing, naked head-butting moron as a manager and players (Glenn Whealan apart), who seem to revel in smashing the living daylights out of players with superior talent.
Obviously that is my opinion, not Arsene Wenger’s to whom the comments are aimed at.
_ _ _
We are slap bang in the middle of the international break and as you can see there is absolutely nothing going on.
In a tiny bit of team news it seems that Samir Nasri is available for selection against Bolton at the weekend according to a few things that have mentioned to me in the past few days, his knee is fine and he has been training as normal. The boss is going to have his work cut out keeping Nasri, Cesc and Rosicky happy.
There have been some comments from Cesc doing the rounds that seem to insinuate that he was forced to stay at Arsenal and doesn’t sound too pleased about it. The original article is for Spanish paper Publico.es and I have sent it to a contact in the press department at Arsenal to see if it is in fact a genuine interview.
I am of the opinion that our captain just needs to shut up and get on with his football, there are a lot of people who need convincing that he is committed to the club.
It also seems Adebayor is a bit stupid too…
More of a blog when there is proper news, I promise.

Arsenal News 24/7

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/-i-don-t-believe-he-wanted-to-break-my-leg-
“I remember it all,” said Ramsey. “I don’t believe he [Shawcross] wanted to break my leg, but I think he wanted to go through both the ball and me – to take me out and make sure I felt the tackle.
“He was caught out of position a little, but he could definitely have changed his mind before making the tackle, realising that he wasn’t going to get there and so not committing. If I was tackling and I saw that there wasn’t a chance of getting to the ball cleanly I wouldn’t make the tackle – and I don’t think there was a chance of him getting there.
“He left me a voicemail and a text message but I just want to concentrate on my recovery for now.
“I can’t do anything about it now. You just have to get on with things and that’s what I’m doing at the moment. I’ve seen the pictures, and quick glimpses on Sky, but haven’t actually sat down and watched the video. Like I said though, I remember everything.”
Come on it was a tackle on ramsey that you see week in week out in the prem, we can hardly blame shawcross because ramsey didn’t drink enough milk as a kid can we?
There you go again.
” there is a lot of talk that behind the scenes at the club that he is sulking.”
You got to stop this wild speculation and that spreads via twitter and other sources.
You always go on about how you hate rumours about the club etc then you chuck in a throwaway remark like that.
Seriously you could be sooooo good if you reined this in a bit.
Disappointing
Hmm see what you mean, not constructive is it. I’ll take it out.
There is a lot of stuff doing the rounds about his attitude though, not shaking AW’s hand after Blackburn etc.
Guess we will have to wait and see.
Steveblogger, it’s quite obvious he is sulking but I agree it doesn’t help matters bloggers broadcasting it. I think we made a mistake not selling him as we all know what a bad egg does but i guess only time will tell.
what does your post imply bluequadrant? u don’t expect a professional to say the tackle was deliberate. do you?
EDITED.
Martin you shouldn’t need to remove it, it is what everyone is saying and thinking. it doesn’t help but it sure doesn’t make a jot of difference – it is good you give your opinion and write what YOU want, its what makes your blog the blog it is – great
archer? whats the problem? no need for that.
Thanks Josh – it isn’t constructive though and the mood of the fans now is a strange one. I can’t work it out
You are definitely right. Not just stupid but downright idiots and hyprocrite. If “Stupid Ryan” break another Arsenal defender leg, he wuil need to hire body guards to tag along.
Apologies all it wasn’t meant to come across so critical.
I enjoy this blog it’s on my reading list daily.
Just that there has been so much speculation re Cesc. And he has released an offical statement saying he is fully committed to the club and will continue to work and fight hard.
It is very harsh to judge him after 1 start that lasted 60 mins and a cameo lasting 30 mins at home when the game was won.
If he looks well below par when he’s had 8-10 games under his belt then, ok, there MAY be room to cast aspersions like “he’s not happy” etc.
Until then we just don’t know.
9jagun,
You miss my point. Ramsey words are damning to Shawcross in that, it is not what he said, it is what he did not say. You can read what you want into it but the interview is not an exoneration of Shawcross. Far from it, it is a daming indictment of Shawcross from another professional.
Ramsey’s words here
“He was caught out of position a little, but he could definitely have changed his mind before making the tackle, realising that he wasn’t going to get there and so not committing. If I was tackling and I saw that there wasn’t a chance of getting to the ball cleanly I wouldn’t make the tackle – and I don’t think there was a chance of him getting there”.
If I was tackling …… That is damning and it is effectively saying we know what you did. Fellow professional have respect for each other, did Shawcross show any respect for Ramsey by going for that tackle?
At best Ramsey is saying Shawcross was deliberately reckless, with the words;
“….but I think he wanted to go through both the ball and me – to take me out and make sure I felt the tackle”.
The bottomline is if you are doing 90 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone, if you have an accident, you face the consequences.
“I’ve watched the video again and at no point did I go anywhere near Gomes.
“I didn’t think I had, but I didn’t want to say I hadn’t touched him before looking at the whole video to make sure.”
Surely you would have remembered? Unless it has become so habitual you don’t even remember doing it.
Good idea to check the TV tho’, just to make sure it wasn’t seen.
It’s a bit of a shame to read that the Captain of a football club can continue to behave in this ridiculous way. I remember that he only gave one interview- well, short note on “being courteous and professional” after the WC but gave no other interviews since..then he goes off with Spain and gives another interview having had his mouth shut for two months with the English press? Is he too gay to face up to the English press while hiding behind (mis) translations?
Man up, gay Cesc and state that you want to play for AFC or go away and do a Mascherano! We CANNOT AFFORD a weak heart in the most promising season for Arsenal in the last few years.
Nice blogging again sir!
Having Nasri back is a major boost in my opinion. He adds strength and depth to an already strong and crucial area. If Rosicky can continue his good form and with Nasri and Cesc coming back in we could have a number of attacking options at our disposal.
Shawcross is beginning to have a history of reckless challenges despite the constant “he’s not that sort of player” comments that are now boring and too easy to say. I am not bothered by what he or any other has to say now.
there is a focus about our side now that seems to be mature compared to other seasons. All the players are saying we’re focussed on winning the league and improving as well as fighting as a team.
It’s all good and I am very excited about this squad we have. Cesc or no Cesc…
Barca players had succeeded in turn us against Fabrigas. It had worked. Cesc will be send out of the club for the highst possible price. The Fans will be the first to ask for his departure .. . It seems that the comments of the barca players are mutch more effective that i origionally thought. It effects the club, the player and the fans. It seems Wenger is the only one who is immune for this unfair act of barca players. I hope we will have an adequate replacement when he will leave.
Ibrahim
If we get one good season more out of him and he is realy determined to go then so be it.
But I don’t think we are a million miles off having a replacement in Nasri, Ramsey or wilshere.
I know neither of these are comparable to Cesc at present. Nasri on his day is equally as effective though.
Whatever happens there is life after Cesc. But let’s at least get behind him for this season and who knows if it DOES end up a remarkable succesc and BArca are outgunned by Madrid the Cesc may just opt to stay on…

The milk thing got on my nerves. During the 2008–09 season, an off-the-field tackle by Shawcross on Arsenal’s then striker Emmanuel Adebayor, led to Adebayor being out for three weeks with an ankle injury. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger latter claimed that Shawcross had injured Adebayor on purpose.
I guess even Adebayor hadn’t drunk enough milk. The fact is that Shawcross is a dirty player. It is not the first time he has done it.
WELL SAID BLUEQUADRANT
Shawcross is a dirty ****. Stupid **** aswell. Get this shit out of football !
Josh, you seem as demented as Shawcross and Pulis combined. Why dont you just sit in a corner with the clown hat and drink some milk. Good boy.
Everything Aaron Ramsey said about the incident was correct. It was no accident and although he is also not malicious, Shawcross is encouraged by Pulis to dive in and take the player out when he has lost control of the ball. Its only a matter of time before a Stoke player breaks another players leg playing the over-physical way they do. The fault is not Shawcrosses or even Pulis-but it is down to referees to send off players making challenges like that-every time.

Shawcross is a young player who under the guidance and support of Tony ‘dimwit’ Pulis has a few career ending tackles left in him.
Maybe he will be tasked with marking Joey Barton and then stopping Adebayor ‘at all costs’.
