Eduardo has officially completed his move to Shakhtar Donetsk…
He has signed a four year deal with them and will move for a fee of £6.2 million. It was expected and its pretty sad. The new system doesn’t suit him, as we saw last season, and there are still a few effects from the horror injury sustained against Birmingham on that horrible afternoon where everything just seemed to go wrong. He needed a move to kick-start his career again – I was expecting him to move to Spain or even France but it seems that with the Brazillian contingent at Shakhtar he has found his comfort and will hopefully become the player he threatened to be with us.
I’m sad we could never see his talent in full flow, he is a gentleman and will be remembered fondly as a player of the club. He showed determination, class and a hell of a lot of bottle to come back from that potentially limb-losing injury and I for one wish him all the best.
