Arshavin will be out for three weeks

Afternoon all,

the latest news is that the BBC understand that Arshavin has aggravated his groin injury and he will miss the next three weeks.

I will be brutally honest here, a player deciding whether they are fit or not is a massive, massive mistake because they will want to do anything to get out on the pitch and play. Arshavin at 28-29 years old should have known better.

The game with Citeh at the weekend is in my book a must win game, they are above us in the table and will be a further 3 points ahead if we lose to them, they may be without Robinho and Tevez but we still need a very strong side up there.

Who pays the price at the end of the day for all these injuries, the club, they should be the ones that evaluate their players fitness and decide whether they should play or not. I do believe that Arshavin has been a bit unprofessional by aggravating an injury he has carried since before the international break. Anyway…

The idiots at UEFA made themselves look totally and utterly inadequate again by arranging a hearing for Eduardo yesterday in Switzerland. Some bright spark must have known he was playing for Croatia against England… I was very happy to see him score last night though, if any player was going to be in the position to snaffle up that goal it would be Eduardo.

Speaking of goals, Bendtner scored again last night and hopefully he will keep this run going and open his account for the season at Citeh this weekend. He was kind of jumping and doing a twirl at the same time to loop the ball over the keeper, a very nice goal.

Rosicky got just over a half yesterday for the Czech Republic in his first competitive game for over 500 days. The Czech manager had a pre-agreement with Wenger not to play him for over 60 minutes, why this wasn’t the same with Arshavin I don’t know but hopefully Thomas in in contention for the weekend. It would be great to see him.

Thomas Vermaelen has been rightly named player of the month for August.

Thats about it from me today, we should have some kind of team news tomorrow, hopefully its positive.

till then.
