Eduardo had two operations + Matuidi link re-appears

Shorter post today after I did an extra one last night about the new blue away kit. The kit is growing on me I must say but the jury is still well and truly out, I don’t hate it but i’m not overly keen on playing in what resembles a baseball top.

I don’t like the fact that the clubs most loyal fans are the ones that will be forking out fifty more quid for a new shirt as well. I think it does disrespect them somewhat.

Now onto Eduardo and contrary to stories he had just the one operation he actually had two. The first was to remove small screws from his ankle and the second was to remove a bit of bone that was causing him some discomfort. The procedure went well and he will undergo rehab, then join the team for pre-season training in early July.

The club released a statement saying:

Eduardo underwent simple revision surgery on his left ankle earlier today [Wednesday, May 20].

The operation went well and Eduardo will follow a dedicated rehabilitation programme throughout June.

He is expected to return to full training in pre-season with the rest of the squad.

I hope this will help get rid of the little niggles he is getting at the moment and a full pre-season will help with that. A fit Eduardo adds a hell of a lot to our attack.

Another story about Wenger/Kroenke/Usmanov/money. Getting boring.

The Goon Blog revealed in January that Arsene Wenger had inquired about St-Etienne defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi. At that time Arsenal asked about his availability and were told he was not for sale so Wenger did not make a bid, apparently now St-Etienne are willing to do business and Matuidi is keen on a move to England, something he made clear in the January story I published. If anything does happen on that front you will be the first to know right here.

Wenger wants to improve the relationship between the players and fans – it does need to improve in my opinion.

Thats all for now im afraid. ’til tomorrow.
