Are Arsenal the most fragile team in the Premier League?

Morning, Friday at long long last.

Over the past few years we have had so many injured players it beggars belief. On Wednesday night it took only ten minutes to break Eduardo again and Silvestre is also out for the weekend making our casualty list; Rosicky, Clichy, Eduardo, van Persie, Silvestre and Gallas.

Thats half a team and there are five top class players missing for us. Is there another team in the Premiership that has had to deal with those sorts of absentees for years on end.

I dont know about you but im fed up of it. Wenger had this to say:

“For the weekend we have lost Eduardo certainly, He has done his groin again unfortunately. Rio Ferdinand fell on him when he had that accident. His knee went on his groin and that detached some fibres. Silvestre has a groin aswell. We have not scanned them yet [so we don’t know about Tuesday] but they both miss Saturday for sure. Robin van Persie is out for the weekend and we will only know very, very late if he could be available for Tuesday or not. We may not know till Tuesday. Gael Clichy is definitely out.”

These injuries are getting tiresome and my mood has not improved much since the dismal showing on Wednesday night either….

Moving on to some Cesc Fabregas comments over the whole ‘spitgate’ saga, (OK, its not really ‘moving on’ but you get what I mean), he has again spoken of his innocence, saying:

“My mind and my heart will be relaxed because I have not done anything wrong,” Fàbregas said. “If they suspend me, then I don’t know what to do. I came on to the pitch, but eight players were on the pitch as well so everyone should be suspended for that.”

This is going to run and run and run and run for months, I can just feel it. Cesc is innocent, there is nothing proving he did anything wrong. I have said all this before, our captain is innocent, end of.

We have Pompey coming up on Saturday, a game I think I am going to have to miss due to other commitments but changes are bound to be made. I would not be surprised to see Vela get a run out along with a start for Diaby and maybe we will see a run out for young Aaron Ramsey. I’m convinced Eduardo would have started if he didn’t pick up another knock, its just a phase of his recovery and its not going to stop here, he will probably be injury prone for a fair few seasons yet. Look at Alan Smith, he has hardly played back to back games in three or four years since his leg was broken.

Right, i’m still angry, as you can probably tell. Hopefully I will be a tad more optimistic tomorrow, there will be a match preview + the latest news.

’til tomorrow.
