Also said “It is our belief that the chances Arsenal will come to an agreement on the purchase of Arshavin is very high.”

This just in from BBC Radio 5 Live’s Mike Sewell: “Arsenal and Zenit have agreed a fee and I understand personal terms have also been agreed and Andrei Arshavin is having a medical this afternoon. But there is a but, as Zenit want half of his signing-on fee for signing for Arsenal. That is now the sticking point.” Hmm. They’ve got (weather permitting) 62 minutes to sort it out.

15.48 At last Arsenal and Zenit St Petersburg have finally agreed a fee for the transfer of Andrei Arshavin to the Gunners. The deal is still to be finalised though with Arshavin and the Russians still to sort out a final payment. It is understood Arshavin will wear the number 13 shirt.
reports are suggesting arshavin is undergoing a medical dunno about wether arshavin has agreed to pay signing amount or not ???
Any news on any other potential signing, was kinda hoping they might slip in a center midfielder under the radar?

Sky Sports News claim that Arsene Wenger has told them that Andrei Arshavin’s move to Arsenal will be announced imminently.
After a day in which the transfer was repeatedly reported as being off and then on, the station claims to have spoken directly to the Arsenal manager and been told that the deal is going through.
Wenger was quoted as saying: “We will make an announcement tonight. Yes, it will be a positive announcement. Yes, it will go through.”
