A miracle has taken place at Arsenal Football Club
Posted on by Martin @ thegoonblog.com

At the time of writing…

wait for it…

WE HAVE SUSTAINED NO INJURIES AT ALL ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY!!

I know, but you really need to pick your jaw up from the floor now.

It will be a minor miracle if it is true, Van Persie has not been broken, Djourou has not been broken, Gallas put in a fantastic display for France whilst Sagna had a… suffice to say, less fantastic display. Lets just say he got the runaround. Bendtner must have been feeling he was playing for Arsenal as Denmark created a grand total of nothing and Samir Nasri has a new haircut. A blonde streak, lets hope his performances match his new ‘skunky’ thing.

But joking aside, its critical that we don’t have a player returning with his leg half sticking out his anus because we really need every player we can get our hands on at the moment, even better, Van Persie is (at this moment in time) still uninjured. I just can’t help but worry when he is on international duty, especially after last seasons injury. If he is injured, we are, in no uncertain terms, fucked. So all in all a good evening, apart from England got taken apart by a Spanish side that look just unstoppable at the moment, they have so much talent with the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso, David Villa, David Silva, Torres, our very own Fabregas with that rock of Senna behind them. Its an amazing array of talent that not even Argentina and Brazil can surpass. Teddy Sherringham compared that Spanish team to us, let me just say now, that Spanish team can actually create chances. At the moment we couldn’t create a mere morsal compared to them. The way they can instantly change the tempo and slice defences open is quite fantastic and to think they were without Fabregas just shows what talent they have, the fact that Fabregas is still a substitute most of the time just shows their wealth of world class talent.

There is fantastic news on the comeback of our Crozillian Eduardo Da Silva who played just under thirty minutes for Croatia last night, he came on with the scores at 1-1 and he made an impact instantly setting up Kranjar for the winner, great news and i think he will give us a real boost when we need it. The competition for places could be just as much a postive as his finishing prowess because at the moment all our forward players do not have any pressure on them from players in their positions. It brings the best out of players when their positions are in demand.

Our speed merchant Theo Walcott is Englands best player according to the team coach Fabio Capello, its due to his lack of fear apparently,

“Theo Walcott is our best talent. He has impressed me very much,”

High praise indeed from a man who has worked with the best of the best and in particular one of my idols, Zinedine Zidane.

Id like to retire like he did too!

There really is nothing else kicking around so i will leave it there for today.

Til Tomorrow

Up the Gunners.

Yup. HUGE sigh of relief as all our guys came through in one piece.

I’m so freaking happy for Eduardo!! He looked great, in possession of himself, and no hesitancy at all. Still not 100% match fit, but he’ll get there. If I were AW, I’d seriously consider using him as a super sub til he’s ready to go a full 90 minutes plus. If we get a quality 30-40 minutes out of him, that’s just extra firepower on the pitch.

Same thing with Shava…he’ll have had a good spell of training with the lads by the time the next PL match rolls around, and if he’s not quite at 100% fit (although he SHOULD BE by that time), AW should consider him for that extra burst of creativity and firepower in the second half of matches til he’s fully fit.

    Oh fuck.

Typical that one of our players would end up broken.
