So thats as far as we have got in the most drawn out, boring and quite frankly tiresome transfer saga since….. Oh yes, the summer.
For once could we please sort out a transfer in a few days? There really is no need to destroy every bit of optimism left remaining.We are hearing the same old things every bloody day, day after day after day after day after day after… you get the point.
Apparently now we won’t see any movement after having another bid rejected, Owl’s agent Ratbag has had this to say today,
“It looks like nothing will happen this week now, but there may be some movement early next week.”
Was it ever going to happen this week anyway!? I think a deal will be done but it will be left to the last of last minutes, then we will probably find out he has SARS and we wont see him before he is thirty and he will want to move back to Zenit because he is only being offered one year contracts!
If we dont act soon i really do feel another club could come in, just what Lachter and Zenit want because Arsenal are probably the stingiest club of its stature around, Inter would splash out on him, Citeh certainly would when they drop down from planet fairyland and realise Kaka does not want to be eating chips and gravy in Manchester, even though he could afford to live on Italian truffles sprinkled with ground diamonds with an extra coating of gold, all served up on a bar of gold bullion.

I don’t think we were ever in for a defender that plays in Italy under the name of Modibo Diakite, it was a media concoction and nothing more than that.
On a slightly more interesting note Dennis Bergkamp has said he would be interested in being involved with the club again, sadly though, not on the pitch,

Agree totally re Arshavin. Bored stiff of the whole saga. How in God’s name can it drag on this long? AW says he wants players due to a loss of creativity. Well perhaps if we were a little more creative in the markets then we may get some results. The longer it drags on, the neare the players are to returning and there will be no need to sign him. Bored bored bored bored…………….

If they really do want 20mil for arshavin then tbh as good as arshavin is i would prefer the money to be invested more wisely in someone like david silva. Hes younger has also proven how good he is at the euro;s and im sure having a fellow spanish international buddy around would help keep Fabregas happy.
i jst hope he’s got eye on some other targets coz dis is gettin more unrealistic by the day. i honestly dont want him spending dat much on arshavin when we cld get 2 realtively good players for same amount. i totally agree with Mooqs. screw lachter, zenit & all of st petersburg!
Wenger needs to play hard ball and say here’s my offer of 12M – take it or leave it and then go set his sights elsewhere. There’s hundreds of footballers and quite possibly dozens of other yet to be found gems, that Wenger’s keen eye can spot for the money we have available. The window is quickly closing and aside from a creative midfielder we also have other areas that need to be looked at and deals for those will take time as well, which we don’t have with such a short January transfer period.
Oh dear, the Arshavin saga carries on and on and on …… boring !!! How long can it take to make the deal ? Is it 10 12 15 or 20 million? It’s all a lot of money but not rocket science to find common ground. Does anyone else think it’s about time we looked elsewhere as well? Or is this just the distraction that AW wants so he can come out and tell us all that other clubs want to rob us blind so that is why he has signed …………… you’ve guessed it ! No-one !!!
