"Toure then retracted his transfer request after a meeting with Wenger, in which he probably said he would be promoted to vice-captain instead of Almunia, meaning he captains the side whilst Cesc is crocked...

Blackmail. Thats what i think this is. Why are we letting Kolo Toure threaten to leave the club if he doesn’t get the vice-captaincy?"

Toure is a great guy and wouldn't do such thing as to blackmail his manager. Toure has always been the vice captain along with Almunia even when Gallas was the captain.

I disgaree, Toure is not blackmailing us he is only asking (if he has even asked) for what should of been bestowed on him along time ago. Almunia, captain!!! don't make me laugh he should not even be playing for the club in my opinion, he is a second rate keeper who has ambitions of playing for England that says it all.
I would much prefer to see Fabianski given the chance to blossom into the fine keeper he's undoubtedly going to be. But enough of the digress, Kolo....yes he has been off form and there are reasons for this we are led to believe ACON (malaria), injury, loss of confidence in a struggling team. The reason that Wenger has done this is becuase he knows it's long overdue Kolo is one of the finest examples of Wenger at his very best discovering a rough diamond, bringing him over and then bringing him on to be a true Arsenal player. Which is how i see him he may be Ivorian but he has that Arsenal vibe loyal, committed, honest a true crowd favourite.

If i was Kolo i would be hacked of as well, he has seen Gallas has come to the club in a blaze of pubilicity and then not really live up to the high expectation we gooners had for him. Then he is given the captaincy and granted he is a better captain that Henry but again Wenger got it wrong. He then has Silvestre thrust in front of him, i guy who i watched against Spurs this season and thought is if this guy really a defender. Wenger has always been to loyal to some very mediocre french players so if i was Kolo who arguably a better defender than Gallas when on top form i would fooked off as well. I do hope that Kolo is there at the start of next season because he's the type of guy i would want to be in the defence at away at bolton or the st. Andrews and not some guy who cannot control himself physically or vocally.

It's strange because your article is the total opposite to what's been put out there in the last couple of days as far as Arsenal stories go. From the Arshavin story to the defensive midfielder but that 's the beauty of the internet theirs always a story to read. Personally i don't think we'll sign Arshavin but hope we do.

On Wenger, yes he is a good manager but he has made alot of mistakes along the way even when we were winning trophies something too many gooners do not see, or have realised in the last couple of seasons.

I hope that he knows what he is doing as this season i fear for the club because it's he first time i think we may not finish in the top 4, which will be a disaster for us financially, especially in the current climate.
