Just to be straight with you, i am a massive fan of Arsene Wenger, i admire him and its not too often i criticize him but today is one of those days I’m afraid. I think he cocked up.
For those of you that don’t know, we had a goal-less draw with Cardiff City of
the Championship. The damn Championship. We played poorly and the only player i saw with intent was Van Persie who really did not want to face another game, or to put it another way, he didn’t want another game to drag this team through.
Arsene Wenger has a big problem in the motivation department if im honest with you,it seems the players are never up for the games against opposition that isn’t fellow top four or Tottenham.
Do you remember the days where we could come out of the tunnel trying to finish the game in the first twenty minutes? The times we did that we had someone like Tony Adams or Patrick Vieira who were a massive presence and were very, very motivational players. We lack that kind of player now, and the emphasis of motivating the side now falls on Arsene Wenger because at the moment we really lack that motivation and drive at times we really need to nick wins, save games and end potential bannana skins early.
Another point that i have spoken about before is the decision to give the captaincy to Kolo Toure, i think it was a massive mistake.
The reason is Kolo is not assured of his team place, yes he is one of the most experienced players out there but he has been crap over the past year. Gallas has a big shout to be in the team instead of him as much as i hate to say it. I have covered this before so I’m not going to go over old ground but its just my opinion on the matter.
Today i thought Wenger made a mistake by not giving Adebayor a start today. He has not played as many games as Van Persie recently and he is in
desperate need of games, but for some reason Adebayor was on the bench and Bendtner was partnered with Van Persie. I really don’t see Wengers logic here because i accept we need creativity but why not stick Nasri behind the strikers?
If Van Persie gets injured we are royally fucked and we really need him for the next two games that come in quick succession.
Yesterday – and today so far – have been rather silent on the Arshavin front as he gets his inevitable mention here.
I take it two ways – no not like that you dirty minded arsebandits- either the deal is over, kaput, done, dusted and having had a big F slapped on the documents or negotiations are so intense nobody has managed to shout their mouth off. I think it might be the latter as Zenit would have inevitably been mouthing off if the deal was kaput.
Right im sorry its been such a negative blog today, i really do admire the big man Wenger but i do feel he has made a few mistakes recently.
But on the plus side we are still on this unbeaten run, we kept a clean sheet and… and… and… and…
We still look rather tepid, like a wine that has been corked, like a tea bag left in the cup for too long. Like a saggy carrot. We are looking rather anemic.
Just one thing that has rather pissed me off this weekend is the FA are an English association for English clubs. Why are we playing a Welsh side in an English competition? That also play under Welsh FA rules? What do you think of that? Let me know because I’m not so sure i support it.
If they want to play in our competition they should bloody well play under our crappy associations rules!
Thats your lot today from the rambling git i am. Why you read this i don’t know.
Well, ’til next time.

Arsenal News 24/7

Couldn’t agree with you more. I was looking for a Vela, Adebayor pairing with Bendtner possibly starting on the wing instead of Eboue (considering Bendtner looked comfortable at that position late against Hull last week). I also agree with you on your point that Gallas is more deserving of the start than Toure. Not to mention Gallas is coming off an injury and it would be easier to work him back in against Cardiff instead of Everton.
Personaly, i would of rather see Bedtner and Vela upfront in the cup games. they seem to have a really good understand of each other’s play, movement and abilities. It’s more like the partnership Michael owen and Heskey use to have at Liverpool.
However, having Cardiff and Swansea playing in the English league and cup only adds more spice to the league due to the intense rivarly. If u asked any fan from every Championship club about what games he looks forward to the most and i gurantee you Swansea and Cardiff will be right up there.
How much motivation do you need when your salary just begins at 15 thousand pounds per game (for the lesser players) and between 50 to 85 thousand per game for the likes of fabregas.
if that sort of money isnt enough incentive to put your heart and soul and pride into the game then i think a lot of players out there really need a reality check..
Maybe try a 9-5 job again !!!
Pathetic
This headline is a pathetic attempt to catch some sort of news..
Who cares if they are a welsh team.. They should of been dispatched..Sounds like an arsene wenger whinge to me…
well on that front im an english bloke living in cardiff and to be honest the welsh mates i have got (as a generalisation) hate anything english bar myself, whether it be sport, politics to a fu@+ing loaf of bread, the point is however that they have a welsh league and to be honest cardiff and the swans should play in that as its almost a case of ” have your cake and eat it syndrome” plus i was at the game today wearing my 09 jersey with ramsey on the back which caused a bit of contraversy, people didnt know whether it was a dig or not, it was hehehe, as for the game had a good few chances but nothing to write home about i just wish AW would play vela hes a class act and we should kick out shoddybuyor in the summer as we dont need him once eddys back n velas had a full game or to,gotta be honest just dont like the bloke since all the wanting to leave last summer, bring it on the emirates 2-0 all the way
up ya guns!!!
How many times can you say “I” ansd “me” in a blog ? ….. probably a record today.
Wtf is a “a saggy carrot”?
Ade has lost the plot. 80K a week is a f***ing joke for
that.
Eboue = C**T !!
Will RVP look as good as Ade when we renegotiate his contract?!?!?!
Wenger is now running out of ideas, his social experiment is failing (can children wearing our beloved shirt win the Premiership?) and he and the board have no concerns about how the fans really feel. Fans live in the ‘here and now’ with just a casual eye to the future. JUST SIGN THE EFFIN RUSSIAN !!!!!
Almondo ….. Do they hate our money ? ….. I think not. Prob is I find it hard to be bothered that the welsh (or the scots come to that ) hate us so much.
I really love my replies. I I I I …. ohhh sorry Goonblogger my ego seems to have overtaken me me me me me !!!
russian sportspaper source life.ru reporting that usmanov ready to step in with 2mil to complete arshavin deal. They say the deal is almost certain to go through soon.
zenits revised fee is 17m and we are still only willing to stick to our 12+3 offer …however usmanov has stated that he is ready to join the negotiations ‘if needs be’. He is on the board of gazprom, the company that have holdings in Zenit and is willing to put up the 2 million needed for the deal to go through. Life.ru and sovsport.ru both reporting that the deal is virtually done and should be confirmed today 26th jan 09.
