Alright you lot, the Sunday papers are unleashing the sort of crap you would expect during a transfer window, stirring up trouble as the doom-mongers carry on with their utterly rediculous made up story’s.
I’ll kick things off with the latest transfer murmurings, apparently Wenger has lined up Stephen Ireland as a deal for Arteta was scuppered. Right, so Wenger is going to go out and buy the form player in the Premier League, from the club with the most financial backing in the world that are currently stuck in a relegation battle. Ha-Ha i think not sunshine. David Harrison, that is awful journalism.
N-Zogbia has said he wants to move to Arsenal, i think he would provide decent back-up but nothing else, he is at Newcastle for a reason, primerily, that reason is because he is not good enough to play at a better club. He said:
“Arsenal is the club that makes me dream the most in the Premier League,”
I dream about captaining Arsenal to the Champions League, the Premier League title and the FA Cup but its not going to happen.
Agent Beppe Bozzo has not ruled out us buying creative midfielder Alessandro Rosina. I think a creative midfielder should be far from our most urgent targets, i’ll touch on it more later but how many times to i have to say we are crying out for a class holding midfielder.
There is also a fuss about Theo Walcott’s contract expiring in 18 months time, my take on it is that Glazidis will deal with it soon and the same goes for Robin Van Persie’s deal. They are making a fuss about nothing again and i really wonder why they enjoy writing such negative articles about us.
Now onto the Plymouth win and the emergance of what might be a key partnership within the team, Robin Van Persie and Samir Nasri.
Walking out with the armband Robin was captain of the team for the very first time and he did not dissapoint.
It took 46 minutes or thereabouts but after a goal-less first half Robin rose to bury a header into the net. Minutes later he majestically spun a defender in the box and delivered a dangerous cross that ended up in the net. Bendtner thought about claiming it… but then thought again.
Then, as usual, we let the other team score and Fabianski was having a horiffic afternoon and i have to be honest here and say, why are we playing a panicky keeper in the tournament we are most likely to win! I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt Arsene later on in the competition.
Now onto Nasman and Robin. Since Nasri has come into the centre of the field he has been creating a lot of chances and is building a very good partnership with Van Persie, hopefully this can continue throughout the rest of the season because during our best years we have had partnerships like this one, just think back to the Pires/Henry partnership. Probably the most lethal in world football at the time.
Lets hope that these two players stay fit and on form because their partnership might just be key to where we are at the end of the season.
Wenger was pleased with what was a creative performance but we were rather shakey in defence:
“We have done the job in a serious way. If we weren’t completely focussed and up for it we would not have gone through today. I give credit to my team for doing the job seriously with good focus and I give credit to Plymouth who had a great game as well.â€
It was a working performance, nothing spectacular but could have been much worse. I do have to say well played to Plymouth because they did play very well and their fans were fantastic.
How far do you think that we will go in the FA Cup this season? Have a shout in the comments!
Right i think that is it for today, Til next time.

Arsenal News 24/7

Really nice talk my friend. I completely support you.
I think we will win this season FA Cup. I’m very optimistic about it.
Well said, i didn’t watch the game here in Nigeria, but from this article i know the lads did well. Nasri will be the key for the remainder of this season now that fab is injured, he sees himself as the one the sole responsibility of the midfield fell on rightnow.
great article! I laughed myself when I saw that article saying we were going to buy stephen ireland! I think that even without fabregas we still have enough in the team to create chances and score goals, with nasri and van persie. I’m concerned about conceding goals, wenger needs to buy a holding mid asap. denilson cannot play there, I do rate him but he is more of a creative player himself!
I’d also like to ask why vela was benched and bendtner started! vela looks a star when he plays, a good opporttunity to start him today I thought, especially because bendtner isnt scoring nearly enough and his attitude stinks. wenger likes to play one big forward with one skilfull forward now, but bergkamp and henry were great together! I’d love to see the vela/van persie partnership given a decent chance!!
