Ade Opens Scoring
Does it say something when you worry about a trip to Hull City?
I was pretty apprehensive before this fixture, after seeing Man Utd sneak a win, Chelsea rise from the dead and Aston Villa cheat their way to three points, i was positively crapping enough bricks to build myself a house.
We started pretty well, not near our best but the best i have seen for a while, the passing was that bit more nippy and Eboue was certainly direct giving their defence a few problems with a few neat flicks too, sadly his passing was still erratic.
The game started to turn our way when Van Persie smacked a powerful free-kick against the bar, it turned out that Myhill got a fingertip on it, a splendid save of the highest quality.
From the resultant corner Adebayor jumped and plopped home a header, a good little header and hopefully it will get him going again, though credit has to go to Robin with a fantastic delivery.
We threatened after but couldn’t get the all important goal, then disaster struck and Cousain stuck a header home.
I was not a happy bunny, i thought it would end up a draw if im honest.
Then some Van Persie magic set Nasri free and a world class finish with his weaker foot put us in front, it was a fantastic feeling, and him and Van Persie are forraging a fantastic partnership.
Bendtner wrapped it up with a finish into the bottom corner after more
fantastic work from Van Persie, what a player he is at the moment, probably the Premierships most in form player. Bendtner celebrated by cupping his ear to the Arsenal fans which is fine because he deserves the chance to give some stick back but i think it shows he is off in the summer. His relationship with the fans is at an all time low and unless he wins us something with a last gasp goal i can never see him becoming a loved player.
Its three important points, but with our next game being Everton away its an even bigger test of this team and if they come through it i see no reason why we can’t get fourth.
Now as is probably predictable by now, onto Arshavin.
GoonerTalk used some initiative and got Lachter’s details off the FIFA website, all agents details are on there.
He contacted him and said this; (taken from his article)
Just days after refusing to give out any interviews to the International media, I posed a simple, but effective question to Israeli-born agent Lachter.
Will Arshavin – in your eyes – be an Arsenal player by the end of the current transfer window?
“I do believe that Andrey will be an Arsenal player.†he replied.
The credibility of this has been debated on that site, but for what its worth, its not Goal.Com or anything so i do beleive its genuine and credit to him for taking the bull by the horns as it were.
It is being claimed that a deal is complete in the NOTW, they are experts in the field of making up total and utter worthless tosh, the price of £17 million is also waaay over what we would pay for him..
Back to Wenger and he was pleased with the teams performance, he said;
“It was a good battle. I believe that in the first half we were really on top of the game, with a lot of fluency. At 1-0 we wanted to keep them under pressure but they made a real battle of it with a lot of long balls and a high line. They scored from a deflected cross and after that we had the mental resources to come back and win in a convincing way because we kept going, and kept going.”
I think AW is really feeling the pressure at the moment, you only needed to see how barmy he was going on the touchline, he is determined to make this team succeed. On Van Persie’s performance he was more concise;
“He was outstanding.”
That he was.
Today promises to be a day of unfounded rumoury so lets ignore all these hacks that drum up stories that my little toe could come up with.
God i hate them.
Right, thats your load for today, pop back tomorrow for more,
Til then!

Arsenal News 24/7

The sun have nicked my bloody title!
Hi, I’m a Villa fan. If you’re talking about Agbonlahor’s head spring after getting a tap in the face from a defender’s boot then fair enough, that should have been a freekick not a pen he totally overreacted I can’t stand it. I don’t think Milner cheated with his goal though, I would say the correct decision would have been a penalty and red card. Also Sunderland should have had two pens for handballs. Obviously I ain’t complaining. It’s gonna be a great second half of the season.
as rvp could pass for the most in-form player, so could bendtner pass for the best super sub at the moment. plssssssssssss i’m praying for a villa doomsday! how the heck are they managing those wins?
i heard villa finished with ten men, who was sent-off?
i could have sworn his name was andrei, not andrey.
if i’m right it’s funny that he would misspell his own player’s name…
i smell a steaming heap of ‘exclusive’ bullshit.
(not blaming the autor of this article mind, i know it wasn’t him)
with regards to bendtner i think it’s not known what will happen next. if he kjeeps up his great form and plays a bit better when he starts games. also if he can reach 10 goals this season i wouldn’t be surprised if the relationship with the fans looks somehwta better by the summer.
i’m not sure how many goals he has atm, and i’m too lazy to check arsenal.com but it’s 3 in the last 3. he also scored vs fenerbahce and i’m surely forgetting one or two more.
it’s fair to conservatively estimate he has 5 so far, which really isn’t that great. however if at the end of the season you see he has 10 on paper i think it’s fair to call that a useful contribution from a player who hasn’t been playing well in the first half of the season at least. let’s wait and see (and hope!)
It is fair to say that Lady Luck is giving one heck of a good blow job to Aston Villa at the moment.
Hopefully she’ll finish soon and they will fall into mid table obscurity.
Good win, soured only by CHelsea, Man U’s and Villa’s comebacks
If bendtner can score with the whole stadium against him, then he is a “TOP GUN”. He impressed me in the last two games. Note the last 3 passes: Bendtner-rvp-nasri=(Arsnl2-1Hull): Bendtner-rvp-Bendtner=(Arsnl3-1Hull). Bendtner also had one fantastic header the hit the post.
I like RVP, he has made 4(all) assists in the last 2 games or last 4 arsenal games and hit the post with a trademark free kick to me, is like a penalty shot.
I heard bendtner+5M pounds=upson (absolute rubbish). I’m not impressed if guys still think Bendtner is persona non grata.
Stu – Andrei is the English spelling of his name, its andrey in Russia mate, ive seen the e-mail print screen and it looks pretty kosher.
Villa are getting very very lucky, i think its a matter of time before they slip up tbh..
Bendtner + VP are gonna be top gun.
It truly was a remarkable weekend with the main title challengers leaving it late. It is that sort of effort and game changing impact which makes them genuine title contenders.
Arsenal deserved their win in a fairly open game.
Totally agree about Villa being lucky but I’m totally enjoying it. We’re definitely not a top 4 team but along with Everton I’d say clearly the best of the rest.
id say so too, they have done very well
