The Goon Blog understands that Alisher Usmanov is to cover the three million gap in-between Arsenal and Zenit’s valuations of forward Andrei Arshavin.
This Russian source confirm that Usmanov is going to step in and also said Wenger has been after Andei since the summer;
‘Wenger then personally went to the stadium to watch the game of Russian attack, and after the match came in the locker room and congratulated our players on the victory, highlighting the game Andrew Arshavin.
Since then, the Frenchman does hope to get Arshavin, although the other day and admitted that the failure of the negotiations will not be a tragedy for him.’

cheap way to buy respect from arsenal fans that don’t approve of his presence at the club thats all……not good news if you ask me….its a sign of intent to some degree thats he’s going to be sticking around by trying to earn brownie points…..i’m against a take over personally and despite the financial restrictions that won’t last forever wengers done a great job to keep us competative so far, i trust him to do so still, i believe we’ll be the top 3 come the end of the season…..not bad with no money if you ask me especially since we have sold all our regualr first teamers and have had to intigrate youth in to the setup…..in my opinion mans a genius….i’ll put my trust in him as always…..time will tell….but a take over would effectively rule out all the hard work done by the board and the long suffering of the fans in recent seasons and is the easy way out….stick to our guns, stay united, and stick two giant fingers up at a takeover and hand me outs from potential sharks like jabba the usmanov (as i’m sure there’s a ‘i’ll lend you money but!’ clause in there somewhere) and ride out the next couple of seasons till things come together with the youth, which i assure you will…..wilshere,ramsey,fab4,nasri,vela,walcott,merida to name the known afobe ozyakup frimpong, emmanuel thomas with more on the horizen….the futures in safe hands at the right price…
